Situated in Vienna’s Goldenes Quartier at the square Am Hof, this superb new luxury Park Hyatt hotel occupies a listed 100-year-old building that formerly served as an Austrian Hungarian Monarchy Bank and forms part of Vienna’s First District. In its current state, the building is much like it originally was from an artistic and historical standpoint. The way it looks from the outside, as well as large portions of the interior such as parquet floors, wood paneling on the walls, doors, marble walls and floors, and glass windows, in addition to small details like light furniture, are from the time when the building first went up. These historical accents underscore the hotel’s unique charm and character. A total of 200 artisans as well as 600 construction workers from 20 countries carried out the work, with 20 academically qualified restorers coordinating their efforts to transform the building to what it is nowadays using materials from the highest quality such as massive walnut wood, marble, oiled oak parquet, gold leaf and bone glue as well as latest technology.
