The 2024 St. Patrick’s Day parade is set to be the largest the city has ever seen. To mark the national holiday, the Galway City Council has organized a series of events from March 15th to 18th.

Galway is pulling out all the stops this year. Alongside its biggest parade yet, the Tribesmen Head of the River rowing race is making a comeback to the River Corrib on March 16th after an 11-year hiatus. This event signifies the transition from winter training to the start of the rowing regatta season.

Meanwhile, Thomas Street becomes a hub of musical delight as local musicians take to "The Green Stage" to entertain crowds with a mix of modern hits and traditional tunes.

The festival's lineup culminates on Sunday, March 17th, with the main event: the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Joined by visual artists Buí Bolg and featuring a diverse array of performers, including Lumen Street Theatre, the Hit Machine Drummers, Mirror Dancers, and Fidget Feet, the parade showcases the community's spirit, culture, and boundless energy.
